Sisters

I enjoy painting portraits, but in a slightly different way. With this painting, I was thinking about the relationship between the sisters—about their differences as well as their strong bond. Each one is different, and that is precisely why they complement each other. One comes across as more self-assured and protective, while the other seems calmer, as if she were following her. Can you tell which is which? The theme of difference and unity runs through my work constantly. And perhaps it applies not only to sisters, but to all relationships bound by love and devotion.
